We are proud to announce Mackenzie Catalina’s commitment to play at A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. Mackenzie currently attends Leander High School and will graduate this year (2018). Mackenzie has been a loyal member of the Texas Eclipse family for all eight seasons of her club career (11U-18U). Mackenzie has really solidified her place as a top team athlete and led each of her teams to many successes throughout her club career.
Heather Anderson, Mackenzie’s 18 Under Armour head coach, had this to say about her, “I’ve had the privilege of watching Mack grow throughout her volleyball career from a small, shy 11-year old to an incredible (much taller) athlete that makes an impact every time she steps on the court. She is a highly versatile player and is equally lethal in the backcourt as she is on the net. Mack couples her high-level court awareness with a fluid swing that delivers incredibly powerful kills. She is a true 6-rotation player, and she is the player you want swinging on game point. I am excited to get to continue watching her grow throughout the next four years at TAMIU. The Dustdevils are getting a great player and a fantastic young woman. We are very proud of you.”
Ashlee Motola, Mackenzie’s 17 Under Armour head coach, had this to add, “Mack is a well-rounded, 6-rotation player that makes volleyball look effortless. She has really high expectations for herself and always seems to be getting better. As a leader on and off the court, Mack is also a great teammate and even better kid. I am confident that she will do great things for A&M International.”
We wish Mackenzie the best as she enters the next stage in her volleyball career and we know she will be an instant success! Go Dustdevils!
